fall events at INCC

Hello all!
I hope everyone is enjoying their last week of summer before school starts! As school starts the children and youth programs at INCC are also getting started as well. There is a lot of information in this email please read through it all so you and your family are informed of all the fun stuff going on here at INCC.
Promotion Sunday- August 26th
There is a celebration and meet the teacher time during the normal Sunday School time (9:30)
During the worship service (10:50) we will recognize and bless all teachers and each child and youth who are starting a new school year (this includes all the nursery children as well! If you have a child who is going into 3rd or 4th grade we will be presenting them with Bibles.
After the service we are having a family lunch (for all children and youth and their families). THE RSVP DATE WAS AUG 19 BUT I AM EXTENDING IT TO WEDNESDAY AUG 22. PLEASE RSVP SO WE HAVE ENOUGH FOOD! This will be a fun time for the children and families to spend some time together in fellowship.
Acolyte Training- September 9th following the service
Calling one Calling all, Acolytes are what we call!
K-5th graders are all invited to acolyte (light the candles in worship) on Sunday mornings. There is going to be an acolyte (candle lighter) training to learn about why we acolyte andhow to acolyte. All current and new acolytes should attend. Lunch will be provided! Please let Sarah Almanza know if your child would like to acolyte this year and if they will be at the training.
NEW Children's Church Programs
Children's Church, is taking on a new look! We are splitting the age groups for more age appropriate lessons. We will have teachers and helpers in the nursery working with the ittie-bitties, there will also be a 3-5year old class, a K-2nd class and a new 3rd-5th grade class that will start the year by learning about the Bible then transition to a more worship based experience. It is going to be a very exciting year full of God and fun during children's church.
JYF (Junior Youth Fellowship-3rd to 5th grade)
JYF starts Sunday September 9th from 6:30-7:30! We learn about God and have a lot of fun through different experiences throughout the year, everything from Bible study to crafts to laser tag we always are looking for new ways to experience time together.
Family fun
Our first family fun event (newborns to 2nd grade and their families) Will be Saturday September 15th at 11:00. Bring your own picnic lunch to Fritz park and we will enjoy lunch together and have fun at the park! please let me know by September 12th if your family plans to attend this event.
